Refund policy

Welcome to HandmadeByFreethinkers/Wool By Doris !

HandmadebyFreethinkers provides handmade custom and semi-custom items that provide you and your family with comfortable, durable and sustainable clothing. All items are handmade and hand-dyed, therefore they may have small inconsistencies or variations.

All items are created, cut, sewn, and dyed all by Doris, Owner of HandmadeByFreeThinkers, all while raising and homeschooling her 5 children. This will naturally make the turnaround time very flexible. 

As a result, all turnaround times are our best estimates and are listed as follows:

• Made to Order: 4-8 weeks
• Clothing with customizations such as Hand dyed, Hoodies, Joggers, nursing accessible, Momma clothing etc 6 - 12 weeks
• RTS- 3 business day

I try to give my best possible timeframe on Turn around times. I am a stay at home mom of 5 homeschooling kids, a business owner and I run my business alone. Circumstances may arise and I may go over the original Turn around time that was stated. Please Follow my Facebook business page for updates regarding orders, weekly updates, or if something came up and I can not fulfill your order in the specific amout of time. I also try to send emails regarding updates. 

 

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a refund or return. After that time frame, returns or refunds are no longer accepted. 

To start a refund or replace item, you can contact us at handmadebyfreethinkers@gmail.com. If your return is accepted, I will send you information on how to handle the items. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

For an approved return, Customer ( buyer) pays return shipping for the product(s) to be sent back to me.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or wrong size. If you receive the wrong item, Please reach out to me so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. 

Quality Guarantee

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like used items or custom products (such as special orders, custom order, or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as reusable menstrual products, breast pads, period panties, cloth diapers, cloth diaper covers). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

 

Exchanges and Returns
If you were sent a wrong item, and need to exchange it, The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to state in detail what is wrong with the item shipped to you and what item you would like to replace it with. 

- Customized items are not eligible for return. This includes but not limited to,  custom dyed colors, bras, added or decreased inseam length, waistband, arm length, added accessories like ruffles or applique  

- All eligible returns/exchanges will be issued store credit and are subject to a 15% restocking fee. 

-Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges (including return shipping to me (maker) and cost of shipping back to you (customer)

-RTS (ready to ship) items are not eligible for  returns or exchanges. 

-All returns must be authorized and coordinated. Do not send an item back without reaching out to me first

Upon receiving returned items we will inspect and issue your store credit/exchange within 10 business days. 

Note: we can only accept returns/exchanges for orders you have placed directly through HandmadeByFreeThinkers/WoolByDoris. Items acquired through a third party are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

Refunds
 If you are approved for a full refund, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, and you have not received the return,  please contact us at handmadebyfreethinkers@gmail.com.

You will not be approved for a refund on preorder items or custom items. Once you place your order for your preordered item, that sale is final. I can not refund, replace, nor exchange your preordered item. All custom items are specifically tailored to you specifically. I can not refund you on Custom items. 

 

Altering/Fixing a Product

 If you need me to Fix or alter a recently purchased item, please contact me about the altering needing. If you are approved for an alter, You will be responsible for all shipping charges (including return shipping to me (maker) and cost of shipping back to you (customer). You may also be subject to an altering fee of $25/ hour it takes me to fix, or alter your product. This is Per product. It takes a lot of my time, hours and more product that goes into fixing or altering a premade item. 

 

All items created by HandmadeByFreeThinkers/Wool By Doris are CPSC compliant.
